Public Relations

The Office of Communications serves as the primary contact with the secular and religious media regarding diocesan issues.  We also respond to media inquiries for Bishop Edward U. Kmiec, 13th Bishop of Buffalo. Official diocesan communications originate from our office, and we provide communications support to parishes, schools and other Catholic institutions in the Diocese of Buffalo.

Western New York Catholic

The official newspaper of the Diocese of Buffalo, the Western New York Catholic tells the story of how Catholics live their faith lives in the eight counties of Western New York.  Published and delivered to parishes the first weekend of each month, the Western New York Catholic has a companion website (www.wnycatholic.org), that is updated on a regular basis.  You can follow the Western New York Catholic on Facebook and Twitter.

Radio Ministry

Our radio programs are available as podcastsThe radio studios at the Catholic Center in downtown Buffalo are used to produce weekly programs, like Catholic Today, a Sunday Liturgy of the Word for radio; Western New York Catholic Weekly. The services of Radio Ministry are also available for on-location recording of speakers or events, as well as in-studio projects. Some of the music included in our radio programs is courtesy of PraiseDisc.   For more information, call (716) 847-8719 or E-mail radio@buffalodiocese.org

 


Catholic Directory

In the first quarter of each year, our office publishes a directory for the Diocese of Buffalo which includes listings for all parishes and institutions, diocesan statistics and departments, and priests, deacons, and religious. The 2012 Catholic Directory for the Diocese of Buffalo is now on sale with deliveries scheduled for late January.  This is the definitive guide to the diocese, and includes the very latest information on merged and linked parishes as well as new pastoral assignments.  The 2012 cover features Blessed John Paul II, Blessed Mother Teresa and Venerable Nelson Baker.

Telecommunications


Telecommunications distributes Catholic programs to network affiliates and cable systems throughout the Diocese.
