My Friends,
As we commemorate this great feast of the birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, it brings to mind that this is a wonderful time of joy, peace and happiness. The Lord is here; He is once again with us, and He blesses us too.
Christmas is a time for prayer, and my special prayer is that God will grant the longed for peace throughout the world. There is little peace today, and we are concerned about those who are in harm's way, especially our military personnel and others with them. We care about them and we pray for their safety.
In our imperfect world, with all its difficulties, its problems and frustrations, Christmas is a time of peace and prayer. I pray that the gift of inner peace will enter into our hearts, and that it will lead to the outer peace that we all desire.
May the grace and peace of Jesus, born of Mary, reign in your hearts in these holy days and in the year to come.
