The Department of Catholic Schools has developed curriculum aligned with NYS Standards in each of the K-8 core content areas. These curricula are intended to guide the core learning across the K-8 grade levels, and content area continuum.
The development and refinement of curriculum is always a work in progress evolving to meet the needs of our students, state requirements and educational research. Therefore, we will be continuously updating each content area. Our goal is to provide a dynamic, useful resource for teachers and parents.
The curriculum is designed around essential questions, content, skills and assessment:
Essentials questions: what students think about relative to the content
Content: what students should know
Skills: what students should be able to do
Assessment: sample of ways in which student learning may be measured
