Saint Gregory the Great Parish

Blessing Mass - for People with Special Needs - contact parish for time and dates

Annual Picnic for People with Disabilities and their Family - in July.  We ask that you bring a food to share.  Hot dogs and beverages provided.

Recognizing the fact that their parish is comprised of a diverse group of individuals including person with a wide range of disabilities, the Family Faith Formation, through the guidance of Joan Rischmiller and Sister Maureen Fanning, has imitated a focus group to address the different needs of the members of their community.

Advocates for the Spiritual Needs of Persons with Disabilities Group - is committed to providing resources and support for individuals with disabilities so they may fully participate and share in the experiences of parish life, including prayer the sacraments, liturgy and service. They have dedicated themselves to:

  • Helping facilitate spiritual growth in the Family Faith Formation
  • Creating a welcoming and accepting environment for their diverse members, including individuals with disabilities
  • Promoting awareness and acceptance of diversity through education
  • Empowering individuals with disabilities and their families by providing accommodations to participate in Mass, religious education and other desired parish activities
  • Recognizing that persons with disabilities are able to contribute to the parish by sharing their many gifts and talents

The group meets monthly to discuss the various adaptations, modifications resources and supports that help make participating in parish activities more accessible.

There is a peer support group for parents and caregivers for people with disabilities called SS Joachim and Anna.  Other caregivers and parents are always welcome (VIEW FLYER)

 

St. Joseph University Parish

Interfaith Service - Monday, May 10th at 7:00 pm at St. Joe's for those with a Mental Health Diagnosis, their families, caregivers, supporters and friends.  Please join us if you can. 

Coping Through Christ is a self help group for people who are interested in coping with anxiety and depression using Christian Scriptures and their belief in Jesus Christ in addition to their medical treatment.  This group meets weekly on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center.  All are welcome.
