Catholic Foundation Grants Distributed to Local Parishes and Programs

The Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo has announced the disbursement of more than 20 grants totaling $79,925 through the 2006 Request for Proposal for Catholic Education Funding.  The 23 awards support Catholic education efforts at four high schools, 17 parish religious education programs and two diocesan initiatives.

In addition to the grants, the Foundation also authorized $125,000 in support of the Catholic School Development Program (CSDP), an extension of the International Education Foundation.  In a move to bolster efforts to strengthen Catholic education, the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo has partnered with the CSDP to effect change in the financial, administrative and governance structure of Catholic elementary schools by providing free consulting services for marketing, fund raising, management and governance.

The proceeds from the annual Celebrate Catholic Education dinner and Foundation endowments in support of Catholic education supply the funds for the grant awards.  The 2006 RFP for Catholic Education Funding received 64 applications requesting more than $200,000 in funding.

For more information or to donate in support of Catholic education, please contact the Foundation at 847-8370 or visit their Web site, www.frcdb.org.
