Diocesan Foundation names new vice-chair

 

 

 

Marsha Joy Sullivan, executive director of the Joy Family Foundation, has been named vice-chair of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Buffalo.  Sullivan has been a trustee of the Foundation since January 2003. 

The Foundation is a non-profit entity that acquires, administers, and distributes funds to benefit the educational, religious, and charitable needs of the diocese.  Bishop Edward U. Kmiec is chairman of the Foundation.

A resident of Williamsville, Sullivan is the vice-president for institutional advancement at Nardin Academy in Buffalo.  She is a trustee at Niagara University and a director of the Heart & Soul Kitchen.  She was the chair of the successful 2002 Catholic Charities Appeal and has served on a number of community boards.  A former president of the Kids Escaping Drugs board and Western New York Grantsmakers Association, Sullivan is also a former board president of Nardin Academy and Buffalo Preparatory Seminary.

            David Kersten, executive director of the Foundation said, “Marsha Sullivan brings a wealth of experience from several important arenas, especially the grant making and fund raising sides of the equation.  We are so pleased and fortunate that she has accepted the challenge of providing leadership to the Board and helping the Foundation accomplish its mission.”
