National Night of Prayer scheduled for December 8

The 17th annual National Night of Prayer will be observed Friday, Dec. 8 at 9 p.m. to Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1 a.m.

On this night, Catholic parishes across the nation are invited to hold a prayer service before the Blessed Sacrament in adoration and reparation for the sins against the lives of innocent unborn and helpless ones.

Participants are asked to pray 20 decades of the rosary, and other prayers of their choice, followed by benediction.  Mary, the Mother of Jesus, under the title of Our Lady of Guadalupe, is asked to intercede with her Son for a greater respect for all life in our country.

Participants also will be asked to pray that parents may be conscious of their calling as they share in God’s creative power.

In addition, prayers will be offered for those who have acted against human life, that they might experience forgiveness from the Lord.

Several local parishes and shrines are participating in this endeavor.  Those interested in participating may attend the night of prayer at any of the locations listed below.
