Pro-Life events to take place on October 1

Bishop Edward U. Kmiec, bishop of Buffalo, has extended an invitation to all Western New Yorkers to celebrate God’s gift of life on Respect Life Sunday, October 1, at the 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral, 50 Franklin St. The bishop will be the main celebrant and homilist.

After the Mass, which will be signed for the hearing impaired, there will be a blessing of families, babies and expectant mothers, followed by a reception.

On Sunday afternoon, from 2-3 p.m., the Western New York Life Chain will take place along Niagara Falls Boulevard from Main Street in Buffalo, north toward Niagara Falls.  There also will be life chains in other towns and cities within the Diocese of Buffalo -- Attica, Delevan, Jamestown, Olean and Perry. To obtain signs, call 837-4016.

For more information about the Respect Life Sunday activities or other Pro-Life activities, call the diocesan Office of Pro-Life Activities at 847-2205.
