Bishop Announces Clergy Appointments

Bishop Edward U. Kmiec has announced that three area priests have been given additional terms at the parishes where they are serving as pastors.

Father Anthony Lutostanski of St. John Kanty Parish, Buffalo, and Father Thomas J. Wopperer of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Dunkirk, have both been reappointed to fourth term at their respective parishes.  In Grand Island, Father Paul M. Nogaro has started his second term as pastor of St. Stephen Parish.

Bishop Kmiec also appointed Father Joseph D. Porpiglia pastor of St. Benedict Parish in Eggerstville.  Father Porpiglia, who served in the Iraqi War, was pastor of Holy Cross and St. Patrick parishes in Salamanca.  He previously served as parochial vicar of Nativity of Our Lord Parish in Orchard Park.

All appointments are for a term of six years.
