Marian Tribute to be Held at Cathedral

The annual Diocesan Marian Tribute will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, at St. Joseph Cathedral, 50 Franklin St., Buffalo.  This special prayer service is to honor Mary, the Mother of Jesus.

Bishop Edward U. Kmiec, bishop of Buffalo, will preside at the service; Father William J. Quinlivan, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Tonawanda, will serve as the homilist.

The Marian Tribute is a diocesan event with participants from diocesan schools and parishes.  The Blessed Sacrament Church Choir will be featured as well as banner bearers from St. John the Baptist, Alden, and St. Bernadette, Orchard Park.  The living rosary will include representatives from five vicariates in the Diocese of Buffalo -- Western Erie, Northern Erie, Western Niagara, Tri-County and Northwest Buffalo.

This annual event is sponsored by the Diocesan Marian Commission, Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima, Diocesan Legion of Mary, Diocesan Union of the Holy Name Societies, Buffalo Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and Diocesan Council of Catholic Men.  The event is open to the public.
