Bishop Kmiec to Celebrate Navy/Armed Forces Sabbath

 

 

 

The annual Armed Forces/Navy Sabbath will take place on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral. 50 Franklin St., Buffalo.  Msgr. James F. Campbell, cathedral rector, will be the main celebrant and Father John R. Gaglione, pastor of Christ the King Parish, Snyder, will be the homilist. 

            During the Mass, men and women of the Armed Forces will be recognized for their dedicated service.  All active duty, reserve, national guard, veterans and retired military are invited to attend and wear their respective service uniform. 

Color guards from military units and veterans’ associations are invited to participate.  They will assemble on Franklin Street in front of the Cathedral at 10 a.m.  

Following the Mass, a reception will be held in the Msgr. Britt Social Room in the cathedral rectory.

Each year, the Naval Reserve Association sponsors the Armed Forces Sabbath on the weekend preceding Veterans’ Day in cooperation with the National Conference of Ministry in the Armed Forces and the Armed Forces Chaplains Board.
