Lent
is the forty days preceding Easter when
Christians pray, fast and give alms to
reflect on the suffering and death of
Jesus. It's a period of self-denial,
sacrifice and repentance that ultimately
leads to the glorious re-birth and
resurrection of the Easter celebration. As
Easter approaches, however, maintaining
the discipline of Lent is often difficult.
Produced by Daybreak
TV Productions of the Diocese of
Buffalo, this segment explores the reasons
behind our Lenten practices and reminds us
that it's never too late to "turn
away from sin and embrace the
Gospel".
