"Our Daily Bread" airs every second Saturday at noon on WKBW-TV
channel 7.
Easy Easter Bread
1 pkg. pre-made bread dough
1 1/2 C mixed dried fruit
2 Tbs. your favorite flavoring (lemon, anise, almond)
3 raw eggs colored like Easter Eggs
Place dough in greased bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place until
double in size. Punch down dough and roll into a rectangle. cove dough
with dried fruit and drizzle on flavorings. Roll up and kneed. Separate
dough into 3 segments. Roll into long ropes. braid and turn into a circle.
Place the colored egg in the center of the braid. Place on a lightly greased
cookie sheet. Cover and place in a warm place until dough as doubled in
size. Bake @ 350* for about 20 -25 minutes or until golden brown and a
toothpick comes out clean. When cool, drizzle a white icing over the op
and sprinkle with jimmies.
