As seen on "Our Daily Bread" Christmas 2001

Our Daily Bread" airs every second Saturday at noon on WKBW Ch. 7

Chili conjures up a warm pot of comfort food which can always be stretched a little further. It's perfect Fire House food.

Everyone has a different "favorite" way of putting it together and each one

can be adjusted. Here's one "quick" way.

2 jars Progresso hot or sweet peppers in oil

2 onions

2 bell peppers

1 ancho chile pepper (optional)

2 lbs. chuck coarse ground

2 large cans crushed tomato

2 small cans kidney beans

2 cans red wine (optional) use kidney bean cans

Garlic powder

Chile powder

Shredded Cheese (cheddar/Colby/Jack) for garnish

Hot Sauce

Put Peppers in oil in big pot. Chop up and add bell peppers and onions -- add to mixture and cook till soft add chuck and cook – stirring throw in remaining ingredients except for cheese and hot sauce. Cook for about a half hour dish up and garnish with cheese, season with hot sauce.
