This office, established in 1948, is charged with consolidating the purchasing efforts for all Catholic institutions of the Diocese of Buffalo in order to obtain the best value on goods and services. This department allows the Diocese to realize the following advantages:

Relieve pastors and administrators of the burden of "shopping." |

Allows the Diocese to be part of a national organization (Catholic Purchasing Services, Inc.) that negotiates major contracts for the entire country. |

Through a consolidated purchasing effort, the diocese has more strength regarding pricing repairs, returns, etc. |
In addition to overseeing the purchasing needs of the Diocese, "DPD" also operates the Catholic Union Store.
