Art & Architecture

The Art & Architecture Committee provides the parishes in the diocese with an overview for maintaining quality for liturgical design. It works in conjunction with the Diocesan Department of Buildings and Properties.

This committee may be called upon:

To meet with parish building committees to discuss and provide guidance and direction on building or renovation projects.

To present workshops on parish and vicariate levels on the various aspects of sacred space and the liturgical environment.

To provide renovation and building guidelines.

To provide a directory of local artisans.

Liturgical Music

The Liturgical Music Committee serves as consultants to the clergy and those engaged in music ministry in an effort to encourage excellence in liturgical music.

This committee may be called upon:

To present workshops on parish or vicariate levels on various topics including: liturgical music planning, congregational participation, cantering, choir development, vocal training, organ technique, contemporary ensembles, and music for specific rites and occasions.

To provide consultation to assist parishes seeking to purchase, renovate or restore and organ.

To provide a listing of available Catholic music positions and available musicians.

Pastoral Liturgy

The Pastoral Liturgy Committee is engaged in a continuing study of the liturgical documents and the promotion of general liturgical and spiritual principles involving all liturgical ministries.

This committee may be called upon:

To provide workshops on forming and effectively utilizing parish liturgy committees.

To provide workshops and information on effectively preparing Eucharistic and non-Eucharistic liturgies, rites, and services.

To provide information and resources on the liturgical year.

To provide current information and workshops on liturgy for children and youth.
