February 2026 Clergy Assignments

Rev. Peter Napierkowski has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Family of Parishes #14 (St. Michael Parish, Warsaw and St. John Neumann Parish, Strykersville), effective February 7, 2026. He will reside at SS. Joachim & Anne, Attica.

Rev. Paul Ladda has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Family of Parishes #12 (St. Brigid Parish, Bergen; Resurrection Parish, Batavia; Ascension Parish, Batavia; and Our Lady of Mercy Parish, LeRoy), effective February 13, 2026. He will reside at Resurrection, Batavia.

 Rev. James M.  Monaco will be retiring on February 15, 2026. He will reside at 34 Mariner St., Buffalo, NY 14201.

 

January 2026 Clergy Assignments

Msgr. Salvatore Manganello – retiring as of January 15, 2026

Rev. Peter Santandreu has been appointed Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Buffalo, effective January 15, 2026. He also continues in his appointed positions of Vice Chancellor of the Diocese of Buffalo and Defender of the Bond of the Tribunal Office.

Rev. Justin Steeg has been appointed Adjutant Judicial Vicar of the Diocese of Buffalo, effective January 15, 2026. He also continues in his appointed positions of Judge and Defender of the Bond of the Tribunal Office.

Rev. Dennis J.J. Mancuso has been appointed Parish Administrator of Family of Parishes #5 (St. Mary of Lourdes Parish, Bemus Point; Christ Our Hope Parish, French Creek; and St. Dominic Parish, Westfield), effective January 15, 2026. This is in addition to his responsibilities as Vicar Forane of the Southern Tier East Vicariate and the Southern Tier West Vicariate.

Rev. Steven A. Jekielek has been appointed Administrator Pro Temp of Family of Parishes #34 (St. Peter Parish, Lewiston and Immaculate Conception Parish, Ransomville), effective January 24, 2026. This is in addition to his responsibilities as Vicar Forane of the Niagara/Orleans Vicariate and Finance Manager of the Department of Catholic Education.  

Rev. Luke P. Uebler has been granted a leave of absence, effective January 6, 2026.

Rev. Sean E. DiMaria has been appointed Coordinator of the Priests’ Personnel Board, effective January 15, 2026. This is in addition to his responsibilities as Vicar Forane of the Southern Erie Vicariate.

Rev. Msgr. Richard W. Siepka has been appointed Pastor of Family of Parishes #9 (St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, Lancaster; St. Philip the Apostle Parish, Cheektowaga; St. Martha Parish, Depew; & St. John the Baptist Parish, Alden), effective February 2, 2026. He has been serving as Moderator of the Priests in Solidum of Family #9.

Rev. Paul Ladda has been incardinated into the Diocese of Buffalo, effective November 19, 2025. He is currently serving as Parochial Vicar of Family of Parishes #11.

Rev. Marek Kreis, OSPPE – with the consent of Bishop Fisher, Father Kreis has been assigned by his Provincial as Parochial Vicar of Corpus Christi Parish, Buffalo, effective October 30, 2025. He is no longer assigned as Parochial Vicar  of St. Stanislaus Parish and St. Katharine Drexel Parish.

Rev. Quilin Bouzi, OMI – with the consent of Bishop Fisher, Father Bouzi has been assigned by his Provincial as Parish Administrator of Family of Parishes #23 (Our Lady of Hope Parish and Holy Cross Parish, both in Buffalo), effective November 30, 2025.

Rev. Ronel Bernadin, OMI – with the consent of Bishop Fisher, Father Bernadin has been assigned by his Provincial as Parochial Vicar of Family of Parishes #23 (Our Lady of Hope Parish and Holy Cross Parish, both in Buffalo), effective November 30, 2025.

Rev. Felix Nyambe, OMI has been reassigned by his Provincial to ministry outside of the Diocese of Buffalo, effective immediately.

Rev. David E. Tourville has been appointed Pastor of Family of Parishes #24 (St. Bonaventure, Allegany; St. John, Olean; and Pastor/Rector of Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, Olean), effective January 15, 2026. He will reside at St. Mary of the Angels, Olean.

Rev. John Arogyasami has been appointed as Senior Parochial Vicar of Family of Parishes #24 (St. Bonaventure, Allegany; St. John, Olean; and Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, Olean), effective January 15, 2026. He will reside at St. Mary of the Angels, Olean.

November 2025 Clergy Assignments

Rev. Bryan J. Zielenieski has been appointed the additional responsibility as Temporary Parish Administrator of Family of Parishes #20 (Assumption, Holy Spirit, St. Mark & St. Rose of Lima, all in Buffalo), effective November 15, 2025.

Rev. Joseph W. Tokasz has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Family of Parishes #11 (St. Mary, Holley; Holy Family, Albion; and Holy Trinity, Medina), effective November 29, 2025. He will reside at Holy Family, Albion.

Rev. Jacek P. Mazur has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Family of Parishes #30 (Corpus Christi, St. Stanislaus, and St. Katharine Drexel, all in Buffalo), effective December 1, 2025. He will reside at St. John Gualbert, Cheektowaga.

New Parochial Vicar for Family 15 as Two Priests Enter Retirement

The following appointments/retirements have recently occurred:

  • Rev. John E. Stanton has been appointed Parochial Vicar of Family #15 (Our Lady of Peace Parish, Clarence; St. Teresa of Avila Parish, Akron; Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, Williamsville; St. Mary Parish, Swormville; & Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Bowmansville), effective September 15, 2025. He will reside at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Williamsville.
  • Rev. Aaron F. Kulczyk has been appointed full-time Chaplain of Kenmore Mercy Hospital, effective September 15, 2025. He will reside at St. John the Baptist, Kenmore.

Rector named to St. Anthony Oratory; priests granted faculties

Bishop Michael W. Fisher has made the following clergy appointments:

Father Augustine Hoa Trung Tran has been appointed rector of St. Anthony of Padua Oratory, Buffalo, effective March 25. Bishop Fisher established St. Anthony of Padua an oratory on Feb. 4, to minister to the traditional Latin Mass and the Roman Catholic Italian speaking communities.

 

Father Mario O. Racho has been appointed parish administrator of Family #35 (St. John de LaSalle Parish, St. Vincent de Paul Parish, and Holy Family of Jesus, Mary & Joseph Parish, all in Niagara Falls), effective March 15.

Father Michael O. Ashibuogwu has been granted faculties in the Diocese of Buffalo, effective March 11, while he is participating in the Clinical Pastoral Care Program at Sisters’ Hospital, Buffalo.

Father Louis R. Lougen, OMI, has been granted faculties in the Diocese of Buffalo, effective March 17. With the approval of Bishop Fisher, Father Lougen has been assigned by his provincial as parochial vicar of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Buffalo.

Father Gerard Skrzynski has been appointed senior parochial vicar of Family #7 (Fourteen Holy Helpers Parish, West Seneca; Queen of Heaven Parish, West Seneca; St. John XXIII, West Seneca; St. Gabriel, Elma; & St. John Vianney, Orchard Park), effective May 1.

Father Bernard U. Nowak, vicar forane of the Genesee/Wyoming Vicariate, has been appointed the additional responsibility as parish administrator of Family #6 (Immaculate Conception Parish, East Aurora; Annunciation Parish, Elma; St. George Parish, West Falls; St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Springbrook; & St. Joseph Parish, Holland), effective May 1.

Father Paul Sae-Wan Oh has retired and returned to the Archdiocese of Omaha, effective Feb. 28. He had been serving as chaplain of St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Mission, Tonawanda.

Father Alfons M. Osiander and Father Sebastian C. Pierro retired April 30.

Two parishes change families, new clergy assignments announced

Father Scott Brookbank, OFM has been granted faculties in the Diocese of Buffalo. He has been assigned as clinical care coordinator in the campus counseling center at St. Bonaventure University, effective Jan. 13.

Father William J. Quinlivan has been appointed the additional responsibility as pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Buffalo, effective Dec. 1, 2024. Our Lady of Perpetual Help is now part of Family #31.

Msgr. David G. LiPuma has been appointed the additional responsibility as pastor of Our Lady of Bistrica Parish, Lackawanna, effective Jan. 27.

Father James W. Hartwell has been appointed the additional responsibility as pastor of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, Cuba, effective Feb. 12. (Our Lady of the Angels is now part of Family #1.)

Father John J. Cullen has been appointed the additional responsibility as pastor of St. Mary, Canaseraga, effective Feb. 12. (St. Mary’s is now part of Family #2.)

Father Tuan Pham, OMI has been appointed the additional responsibility as chaplain to the Vietnamese Catholic Community housed at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Cheektowaga, effective Feb. 13.

Father Robert I. Agbo has been appointed full-time chaplain at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, effective Feb. 28.

Father Joseph D. Porpiglia has been appointed pastor of Family #27 (Immaculate Conception Parish, Eden; St. Joseph Parish, Gowanda; Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Langford), effective Feb. 28. He will reside at Immaculate Conception Parish, Eden.

Father Jozef Dudzik has been appointed senior parochial vicar of Family #25 (Holy Name of Mary Parish, Ellicottville and Our Lady of Peace Parish, Salamanca) and Family #33 (St. Aloysius, Springville; St. John the Baptist, West Valley; & St. Mary, Arcade), effective March 1.

Father James W. Kirkpatrick has been appointed senior parochial vicar of Family #31 (St. Martin of Tours Parish, St. Teresa Parish, Our Lady of Charity Parish and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, all in Buffalo, effective March 15.

New Mercy Hospital chaplain, parochial vicars announced

Father Patryk G. Sobczyk has been appointed full-time chaplain at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, effective Oct. 1. He will reside at Holy Family Church rectory in Buffalo. He had been serving as parochial vicar of Family #28.

Father Samuel T. Giangreco has been appointed parochial vicar of Family #7 (Fourteen Holy Helpers, West Seneca; Queen of Heaven, West Seneca; St. John XXIII, West Seneca; St. Gabriel, Elma; and St. John Vianney, Orchard Park), effective Oct. 15. He will reside at Fourteen Holy Helpers Parish, West Seneca.

Father Giangreco had been serving as chaplain at Mercy Hospital.

Father Jozef Dudzik has been appointed senior parochial vicar serving both Family #12 and Family #13 (St. Brigid, Bergen; Resurrection, Batavia; Ascension, Batavia; Our Lady of Mercy, LeRoy; St. Padre Pio, Oakfield; St. John the Baptist, Alden; St. Maximilian Kolbe, Corfu; SS. Joachim & Anne, Attica; St. John Neumann, Strykersville; and Immaculate Heart of Mary, Darien Center), effective Oct. 15. He will reside at St. Mary Church rectory  in Pavilion.

He had been pastor of Family #8 in Cheektowaga.

New pastor for Campus Ministry

Father Daniel J. Serbicki has been appointed pastor of Family #36 (St. Joseph University Parish, Buffalo and the Campus Ministry Parish), effective Aug. 16. He will reside at St. Joseph University, Buffalo.

He previously has served as pastor of Fields of Grace/Family #13.

Father George Devanapalle has been appointed temporary parish administrator of Fields of Grace/Family #13 (St. John the Baptist, Alden; St. Maximilian Kolbe, Corfu; SS. Joachim & Anne, Attica; St. John Neumann, Strykersville; & Immaculate Heart of Mary, Darien Center), effective Aug. 26.

He had been serving as parochial vicar of the family since September 2023.

Two extern priests come to Buffalo Diocese

Faculties have been granted to Father David T. Krzeszowski, an extern priest from Poland who has previously served in the Diocese of Buffalo. Father Krzeszowski is ministering as full-time chaplain in the VA Western New York Healthcare System located at the VA Medical Center on Bailey Avenue, Buffalo.

Father Paul Mukasa, an extern priest from Uganda, has been appointed parochial vicar of Family #28 (St. John the Baptist, Boston; Nativity of Our Lord, Orchard Park; SS. Peter & Paul, Hamburg; and St. Bernadette, Orchard Park), effective July 19, 2024 to May 24, 2025. He will reside at SS. Peter & Paul, Hamburg.

Effective Aug. 1, Father Jason Damon, OFM; Father Aaron Richardson, OFM; and Father William (Jud) Weiksnar, OFM,  have been reassigned outside the Diocese of Buffalo.
