Middle School Religion Teacher

Position Overview: Queen of Heaven Catholic School is seeking a religion teacher who will excel at fostering students’ spiritual, moral, and academic growth for students in grades 6–8 for the 2026-2027 school year. The ideal candidate will actively guide students in their spiritual development, serve as a positive Christian role model, and deliver lessons that align with the diocesan curriculum and standards.

Responsibilities:
• Teach religion classes to students in middle school that are in alignment with state and diocesan curriculum standards
• Develop engaging lessons that encourage creativity, artistic skill development, and appreciation of various art forms and techniques
• Plan and supervise hands-on art projects using a variety of media and materials
• Foster a positive, respectful, and faith-centered classroom environment
• Integrate Catholic values and themes into classroom instruction and projects when appropriate
• Maintain regular and professional communication with parents regarding student progress, classroom expectations, and student achievements
• Display student artwork throughout the school and assist with school art shows or special events
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school programs and student success
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school activities, and faith-based events, including after school and evening activities

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or Education
• Valid teaching certification preferred
• Practicing Catholic preferred, but all qualified candidates supportive of the school’s Catholic mission are encouraged to apply
• Strong knowledge of various artistic media
• Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience teaching elementary and/or middle school students preferred

Salary and Benefits:
Salary begins at $37,600 and is based on a union contract. Benefits include health insurance, professional development opportunities, and paid time off. The 10 month contract starts on September 1st and runs through August 31st.
