Position Summary: The Resident Care Associate ensures the safety, well-being, and oversight of residents and their children during weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts at Mother Teresa Home. This position maintains a supportive, safe, and faith-based environment consistent with the organization’s mission and Catholic values, while overseeing daily household operations and client compliance with program expectations.

Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly (Schedule to be determined)

Reports to: Director Mother Teresa Home

Primary Responsibilities:
• Oversee and monitor the safety, security, and conduct of all residents and children during scheduled shifts.
• Enforce compliance with Mother Teresa Home policies and procedures in a caring, consistent, and professional manner.
• Conduct intake and re-entry procedures for new and returning clients.
• Provide guidance and support for parenting, child safety, infant care, and nutrition.
• Ensure residents clean and maintain their bedrooms and bathrooms, clean the kitchen after each use, and tidy all areas of MTH used during the shift.
• Oversee resident activities including chores, curfews, and devotional or community events.
• Provide limited transportation for pre-approved activities using the agency vehicle.
• Respond to emergencies promptly, contacting medical or emergency personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and communication notes for staff continuity.
• Support risk management reviews by reporting potential safety or compliance concerns.
• Ensure a staff member or a volunteer is always present in the home.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Associate degree required, bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field preferred.
• At least two years of experience in residential care, human services, or working with women and families in crisis.
• Knowledge or willingness to learn about pregnancy, infant care, parenting, and Catholic teachings on life and family issues.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, remain calm in emergencies, and exercise good judgment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic recordkeeping.
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
•The requirements described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed in a home-like residential setting with varying physical and emotional demands.
•Driving organization vehicle is required.
•Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, copiers, and telephones. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook and Excel. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. This position involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, seeing, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching above shoulders. Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.

Salary: $20 per hour
