Brief Job Description: Director of Music for SS Peter & Paul RC Church

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
•Will plan the music, and play the piano (Kawaii Grand) and/or organ (Allen Digital Computer) for all weekend Masses: Saturdays at 4:30 pm, Sundays at 9:30 am and 11:30 am; School Mass on Wednesdays at 8:00 am; Holy Day Masses; funerals/ weddings (or obtain suitable substitute); special events as directed by the pastor.

Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
•A Bachelor degree in music with 1-2 years of experience as a church organist, or several years of experience as a church organist with some degree of musical education.

Desired Skills:
• proficiency in playing the organ and piano
• knowledge of church liturgical music licensing requirements
• ability to learn and operate the steeple bell system and the live-stream programing
• strong time management skills
• strong leadership skills with the ability to direct accompanying musicians
• Knowledge and understanding of Catholic liturgy and religious/ecclesial terminology
• self-motivated with the ability to work flexible hours as needed for church/school events
• recruit and develop a church choir and possibly a children’s choir
