Brief Job Description: SS. Peter and Paul School is looking for a dedicated Pre-Kindergarten teacher aid to join our team. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about working with young children, energetic, and who is committed to supporting instruction in a rigorous, engaging, hands-on classroom.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Teacher aid is able to maintain a safe, healthy and Christian centered classroom environment
• Teacher aid communicates regularly and works collaboratively with lead teacher, other staff, students, parents, and administration
• Assists in implementing all accommodations and services for students with exceptional needs as stated with IEP and 504 plans
• Supports with the assessment, progress monitoring, classroom performance, and spiritual growth of students
• Assists with implementing research based strategies that are developmentally appropriate and meaningful
• Participates in a professional learning community in the school
• Supports the implementation of lead teacher lesson plans and preparation of materials
• Maintain compliance with Safe Environment requirements through attendance at a diocesan Safe Environment workshop and completion of ongoing training requirements as assigned
• Follows and enforces school procedures and policies
• Sets, enforces and shares behavioral and work standards with students and parents/guardians
• Maintains and assists with consistent procedures for group work, transition time and non-instructional activities in the classroom and the school
• Monitors student behavior at all times; responds to behavior in an effective and sensitive manner using positive reinforcement
Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma; minimum of Associate’s Degree preferred; experience with young children

• Forward thinker that looks for continuous improvement, creative approaches to assist with teaching techniques that are developmentally appropriate for 3 or 4 year olds
• Flexibility with approach to meet individual learning styles
• Ability to problem solve; working cooperatively with others to do so
• Understands basic technology as it relates to classroom performance, E-School, laptop, Google classroom, etc.
• Incorporates real life problem solving lessons
