Primary Teacher Assistant

Brief Job Description: We are seeking passionate candidates, qualified to work as a primary teacher assistant, providing support, instruction, and intervention for emergent and struggling readers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Assist classroom teacher(s) with various tasks including lesson and material preparation and small group work
• Supervise students during lunch and special area classes
• Assist classroom teacher(s) with other duties, as assigned
• Other school and classroom responsibilities, as assigned

Qualifications: Required Education/Experience:
• Teaching experience, particularly at the Elementary level preferred, but not required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education preferred
• VIRTUS certified and background checked
• High school diploma
• Experience working with young children

Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Google Classroom and other technology or willingness to learn
• Strong classroom management skills
• Organized, friendly
• Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, parents, and students

Salary: Starting at $15.50 / hour
