Title I Teacher (providing Math and ELA support)

The AIS Teacher provides targeted academic support in ELA and Math for students in grades K–5. This role focuses on Tier II and Tier III interventions, delivering small-group and individualized instruction to help students achieve grade-level expectations. The teacher collaborates with classroom teachers, specialists, and families, monitors student progress, and adapts instruction based on data to meet diverse learning needs.

Educational Experience:
• Valid teaching certification in elementary education or appropriate content area; candidate may be currently working on satisfying the requirements for teaching certification, documentation will be requested
• Experience with Tier II/Tier III interventions preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:
• Implementing research-based interventions in ELA and Math aligned with classroom curricula.
• Providing small-group instruction and individualized support to students identified for AIS services.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers, specialists, and families to support student learning.
• Monitoring and documenting student progress and adjusting instruction based on data.
• Participating in team meetings and professional development as needed.

Classroom Management: The AIS Teacher is expected to maintain a structured, supportive, and positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and academic success.This includes:
• Establishing and reinforcing clear behavioral expectations for all students.
• Implementing consistent routines for transitions, small-group instruction, and independent work.
• Using proactive strategies to address off-task behavior and support self-regulation.
• Encouraging a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative classroom culture.
• Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to align behavior management strategies across settings.

Professionalism: The AIS Teacher is expected to demonstrate the highest standards of professional conduct, including:
• Maintaining confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
• Communicating respectfully and effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and accountability in all aspects of the role.
• Participating in collaborative planning, meetings, and professional development.
• Reflecting on and continuously improving instructional practices to support student growth.

Technological Skills Desired: The AIS Teacher should be comfortable using technology to enhance instruction and communication, including:
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Classroom, and Forms).
• Ability to use educational software and digital resources to support Tier II and Tier III interventions.
• Experience with tracking student data, creating progress reports, and analyzing assessment results digitally.
• Willingness to integrate technology into instruction to engage students and support individualized learning.

Ergonomic Requirements- The functions of this position usually are performed standing and sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, light lifting, walking, carrying and other movements. Necessary tasks involve working on a computer keyboard, computer software applications, and extensive wrist and hand movement. All individuals in this position are required to be able to perform these tasks without significant risk of injury to themselves or others, or to otherwise demonstrate or explain how they can perform the essential functions
