White Mass
Bishop Fisher and the Catholic Medical Association invite you to celebrate the Annual White Mass to thank, honor and support in prayer our medical workers. The Mass will begin at 10:30 AM at Saint Joseph Cathedral on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
White Masses (so named for the white coats of physicians) were traditionally celebrated on the Feast of Saint Luke (the patron Saint of physicians) in hospitals, chapels, parish churches, cathedrals, and everywhere that physicians routinely gathered with their chaplains. The White Mass honors all those who work in health care—from nurses and physicians to dietary staff and lab workers.
Since this is also close to the World Day of the Sick (February 11, Our Lady of Lourdes), priests will be available after Mass to offer the Anointing of the Sick. For more information, please call the Cathedral at (716) 854-5855 or email cathedral@buffalodiocese.org.
