Discerning who among us are called to serve as lay ecclesial ministers is no easy task. Preparing them for ministry and retaining them in important leadership positions is also a challenge. Therefore, it is our duty to properly prepare and provide on-going formation for those who serve as parish catechetical leaders. This formation is both theological and skills based.
We offer pastors support in the creation of effective job descriptions, wage guidelines, and support in the hiring process as requested. In addition, we provide a year-long orientation program for those newly hired, and on-going leadership formation for all parish catechetical leaders.
The Diocese of Buffalo supports the on-going professional development and formation of lay ecclesial ministers who serve as parish catechetical leaders through the Catechetical Leader Certification Process. See all the details.
