The diocese offers several opportunities and ideas to encourage pro-life advocacy in your parish community.
Pro-Life Office - Our mission is to promote and implement the Pastoral Plan for Pro-Life Activities sponsored the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. The Plan focuses on four major areas: Prayer, Education, Pastoral Care, Public Policy. Brochure
Speakers - We offer presentations on chastity, pro-life, end of life, the death penalty and stem cell research. We ask that you fill out a Speaker/s Request Form

Vine and Branches - The
mission of the Vine & Branches Committee, through the grace of God
and working in conjunction with the Diocesan Office of Pro-Life
Activities, is to seek and implement effective and cohesive ways to
transform and communicate the tenets of the USCCB Pastoral Plan into

National Life Chain - Annually, on the first Sunday in October, Life Chain invites the
churches in each city and town across North America to bear witness in the public arena to raise awareness of the Sanctity of Life. Stand on a
designated local sidewalk and pray for one hour, while holding one of
the following approved pro-life sign messages: List of parishes participating

• ADOPTION: THE LOVING OPTION
• LORD, FORGIVE US AND OUR NATION
• ABORTION HURTS WOMEN • PRAY TO END ABORTION

Respect Life Program 2017-18 - This year's theme is "Be Not Afraid" "Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age" Matthew 28:30 Created by the USCCB, this program is implemented throughout the Diocese through parish coordinators and priests. Call the Pro-Life Office if your parish needs an updated Respect Life Program. Limit one per parish.
Annual In-Service Luncheon - We start the day with Mass at St. Louis Church, Buffalo, as Bishop
Richard J. Malone recertifies the current Coordinators and installs all newly
appointed Respect Life Coordinator/s leading the pro-life ministries in
our parishes. The day follows with speaker and luncheon at the Catholic

40 Days for Life Campaign Kickoff Rally: Friday, September 22 - at 7:00 pm. The rally will be held in Christ the King school gymnasium adjacent to Christ the King Church, which is on Main Street and Lamarck Drive, Snyder. Convenient parking is available in the main lot off Main Street.
Speakers include Father Dan Young, Spiritual Director for The Station of the Cross Catholic Radio, and Cheryl Zielen-Ersing, Coordinator of the St. Gianna Molla Pregnancy Outreach Center in Buffalo, NY. Elizabeth Ministry - The Elizabeth Ministry is an outreach to women in special times of
motherhood. The purpose of this ministry is to affirm, support,
encourage and assist women in response to their needs during the
childbearing years. Empowered by the Holy Spirit and through our
Baptismal call, we come as friends and peer counselors to provide
comfort and encouragement through our own life experiences.
Protecting Life - The Western New York Coalition for Life is an ecumenical program
dedicated to respecting the dignity and protection of human life from
the moment of fertilization to natural death. We will provide access to a
collaborative network of agencies and services promoting and supporting

Disabilities Action Team - The Diocesan Council for Persons with Disabilities is an advisory
council which communicates to the bishop on issues and activities
related to the spiritual needs of persons with disabilities and their
families throughout the Diocese. Members of this council are appointed
by the Bishop and consist of persons with disabilities and their
advocates. Bishop Head initiated this council in 1975. For more
