With summer in full swing, many area
parishes are hosting family-friendly festivals, carnivals and lawn fetes during
the weekends. Plan out a visit to a nearby festival below.
July 7-9, Queen of Heaven Church, West Seneca - Live music, food and beer garden all weekend. Parish Website
July 8-9, Immaculate Conception
Church, Eden - Saturday includes Polish-American Folk Mass at 4 p.m., pork chop
dinner at 4:30 p.m., and the Dave Gawronski Band from 5 to 8 p.m.; Sunday
includes Mass at 11 a.m., chicken dinner at 11:30 a.m., and Norm Kaminski's
"One Man Band" from 2 to 5 p.m. Both days include music,
refreshments, theme basket auctions, grand prize raffle and kids and brown bag

Lake View - Mini golf tournament on Saturday, chicken BBQ on Sunday, and live

July 20-23, St. John Vianney Church,
Orchard Park - Thursday includes 5K run; Friday includes food truck rally and
classic car show; Saturday includes more food trucks and entertainment by
country music star Eric Van Houten; Sunday includes outdoor Mass and chicken

Swormville - Friday includes 5K run and walk along with beer, food trucks and

July 22-23, Our Lady of Bistrica
Church, Lackawanna - 100th anniversary lawn fate includes Elvis impersonator
Terry Buckwald on Saturday, and Croatian ethnic music "Maestral" on
Sunday. Croatian and American food will be available all weekend, along with

July 27-29, Our Lady of Charity
Church, Buffalo - Summerfest includes a car show on Thursday and music, dinner,

July 30, Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Lakewood - Chicken barbecue until sold out. Parish Website
Aug. 4-6, St. Christopher Church,
Tonawanda - Friday includes fish fry and music; Saturday includes kids
afternoon, 5K and walk, and music; Sunday includes Polish dinner for pre-sale
only, military appreciation day, and music. Rides, gaming, beer tent, auctions

- Family lawn fete and chicken bar-b-que runs 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. following

Basilica, Lackawanna - Father Baker's Pennies to Heaven chicken barbecue and
family carnival runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Event includes sidewalk coin drop,

Aug. 13, Blessed Mary Angela Church
(at St. Hedwig's Campus Social Center), Dunkirk - Chiavetta's chicken barbecue
all day until sold out, music by Exit 59, auction, baked goods sale and kids

Aug. 15, St. Luke's Mission of
Mercy, Amherst - Great corn roast includes all you can eat food, music, raffles
and theme basket auctions. $20 admission (12 and under free) helps benefit St.
