What are youth saying about CLI?
"Before attending CLI I felt nervous about being in a new place for a week with people I hadn't known. I felt shy in my faith as it's hard to express it when not everyone around me has the same sense of faith as I do. During the week I opened up to people, quickly realizing that everyone there had a similar sense of faith as I do and that it is okay to embrace it openly. I also got to practice my leadership skills, which is quite helpful when it comes to being on the Diocesan Youth Board. By the end of the week I felt secure and confident in my faith, like no one could knock me down from the high that I was on. I had made lasting friendships and strengthened my relationship with God. Experiencing CLI was an opportunity that I am thankful for everyday. "--2016 CLI Participant
was an amazing experience which allowed me to strengthen my faith, build
confidence, and make friends. After CLI, I was able to return to my parish and
assist with planing to help our parish obtain more youth and people my age.
Also, CLI improved my life skills including leadership and communication which
helped me in school and other aspects of my life."--2015 CLI Participant
"CLI not only prepared me to be a leader, but also guided me to
lead like Jesus. The skills I learned are useful and help to strengthen
my relationship with God. It was a wonderful experience that I will take
with me for the rest of my life." -2014 Participant
What are pastors and youth ministers saying about CLI?
"CLI gives our youth not only the
awareness of their abilities, but the realization that the best place to
use them to their fullest is in the Church." Rev. Jerry Kopec, Pastor of Ss. Peter & Paul, Williamsville
"Participants leaned that regardless of their individual skills and circumstances, they are part of something much greater than themselves, and that their choices will always affect others. The whole experience was 'lit!'" --Rev. Andrew Lauricella, Vocations Director, Diocese of Buffalo
"Sending our young people to CLI has been one of the best decisions we have ever made in the area of Youth ministry. Our young people have been able to engage themselves in this program based on the solid foundation they have received within the parish. CLI has inspired, enabled and strengthened our young leaders to return to their parish energized and empowered to be leaders in a variety of ministry to our youth." --Ron Thaler, Our Lady of Hope Parish
